Yes, we band our birds when they are babies.
Well, first off, rollers don’t like to roll. It’s a glitch in their system that causes that. We have seen our birds do all kinds of distances. Most of them are 20-50 foot rolls, but we do see others roll much deeper. In fact we have had several fall as much as a 100 feet. But with that, we try in breeding, not to have those since some do end up crashing to the ground. That is never fun to watch.
Well that’s easy to answer…no we are not members of any club nor do we raise our birds to compete. Now, that’s not to say we couldn’t or our birds can’t, we just simply choose not to enter that segment of roller competitions. We much prefer to enjoy our birds flying in the backyard and keep our attention focused on our breeding program.

I started out so long ago and yes, you have to start with a bloodline of some sort…lol. I started out with a handful of different bloodlines and from there I focused on creating a select breeding program to develop flyers that roll while still focused on creating new and exotic bird colors.
